RITA MOOKERJEE GHOSE, JD, has always focused her practice on family law. However, her passion for helping individuals resolve their family law issues developed before that, while she worked as an intern at the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and then as a case assistant for the Catholic Social Services (CSS) Foster Care Agency. She participated in the Civitas Child and Family Law Program at Loyola University School of Law in Chicago and earned her certificate in Child and Family Law. She trained as a mediator at the Center for Conflict Resolution and as a Collaborative Attorney at the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois. In 2004, Rita joined Brigitte Schmidt Bell, P.C. where she has concentrated her practice almost exclusively in Collaborative Law and Mediation. She also accepts litigation cases, but always with the goal to first try and exhaust all possibilities of amicable resolution. She has developed a specialty in helping families create unique solutions to their issues involving divorce, custody, post-decree, child support, spousal support and maintenance, pre and post nuptial agreements, adoption, guardianship, and other family-related matters. She understands that just as families are never tailored from the same cloth, neither should solutions to their problems be.
