After receiving an undergraduate degree from Illinois Wesleyan University, and a specialist degree in school psychology from Illinois State University, David worked several years as a school psychologist counseling students (and their parents) through myriad challenges including divorce, and training student mediators to help their peers resolve conflict peacefully. Prior to graduating magna cum laude from Northern Illinois University College of Law, David also earned a doctorate in education from Loyola University Chicago and for several years facilitated marriage preparation through his local church. David's understanding of family systems is enhanced not only by his professional experience as an attorney, psychologist, and educator, but also, and perhaps more significantly, by his life experience as a husband, father of five, and child of divorce.
